OpenWrt, ash alias profile

There is no .bashrc in OpenWrt, to personalize the shell edit /etc/profile.

I have added the usual ll and la commands and colored the shell prompt to red for the root user.

cat /etc/profile
#!/bin/sh
[ -f /etc/banner ] && cat /etc/banner

export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin
export HOME=$(grep -e "^${USER:-root}:" /etc/passwd | cut -d ":" -f 6)
export HOME=${HOME:-/root}
#export PS1='u@h:w$ '
#set ash prompt to red for root user
export PS1='[e[1;31m]u@h:w$ [e[0m]'

[ -x /bin/more ] || alias more=less
[ -x /usr/bin/vim ] && alias vi=vim || alias vim=vi

[ -z "$KSH_VERSION" -o ! -s /etc/mkshrc ] || . /etc/mkshrc

[ -x /usr/bin/arp ] || arp() { cat /proc/net/arp; }
[ -z /bin/ldd ] || ldd() { LD_TRACE_LOADED_OBJECTS=1 $*; }

alias ll='ls -lsh'
alias la='ls -lah'

To reload the profile:

. /etc/profile
